MYOB – Time Billing – What is it and when to use

Time Billing MYOB is possible for businesses to charge for their time and includes professions such as accounting, consulting the legal profession and service-oriented companies to name just a few.

In this example we will use a consulting company specializing in the accounting as a business. There are three Consultants to perform a variety of activities and tasks in different degrees. The Command Centre will list options Click Time Billing. The bottom of the window, click New. Enter an activity that can have a number Activity abbreviation of the name, such as GDE to General Data Entry. Activity to complete the ID, name and description. Select the GST and income account code you want to use. The default type Hourly but you have the option to choose Hourly not for activities that may have a set monthly fee. If you choose this option, the program will ask you to choose the unit, and the participation rate. The unit can be monthly, for example.

Complete the Status option and if the type is Hourly option determines what rate you want to use. The Employee Rate would be set up for employees of the Customer Card Rate Card has been created for customers. If you choose the activity rate, you need to enter the labor force participation rate.

Once you have completed the list of options to enter the Time Billing Command Centre click activity Slip. Type in charge of the Employee Date, the Customer Activity and units which would be hours in this case. It also has the option to enter comments related activities that can be used on the account, if you choose not to use the description of the activity. Make a note of the activity.

When you have completed the options, and ready to be billed, Time Billing Command Centre click on Prepare Time Billing. The list of customers ready for invoicing will be displayed. Select the customer you want to invoice and click OK.

The Work in Progress window appears and asks you to choose what you want to be billed. Once you have chosen what you’re going to be billed, you can then choose to use accounts Activity Slip Notes instead of Activity Name / Description on when this preference.

Click on Create Account. Check the date and other details, and click the Add button if everything is in order. Fill out according to the same process for all customers to be billed.

to print the bills go to the Sales Command Centre and click on the Print / e-mail accounts. The list of accounts will appear in the print. Check them to be printed, number of copies, and sales of the configuration you want to use, and then click Print.
